NOCK V3 Handguards – FIRST LOOK

Over the years, Nock handguards have become the preferred choice of mountain bike enduro racers, whether at the highest level of competition with the UCI EDR or in local races. That trend is only going to continue with Sendhit’s latest release of the Nock V3 Handguards.

The trust earned from riders globally compels Sendhit to relentlessly enhance the standards of reliability across two primary dimensions:
▪ Functional reliability, referring to the capacity to deliver superior hand protection under all circumstances, including encounters with vegetation, tree collisions, and falls.
▪ Mechanical reliability, signifying the capability to endure the inherent shocks associated with high-level enduro riding without compromising structural integrity.

For the Nock V3 model, this quest for reliability resulted in simplification and optimization because, as Italian sculptor Constantin Brancusi quotes, we truly believe that “simplicity is complexity solved,” and that is the philosophy behind the Nock V3.

Sendhit have completely redesigned all the parts and their assembly to:
▪ Control the behavior of each part under impact deformation;
▪ Limit the transfer of impact energy to the handlebars in the event of a fall;
▪ Provide cushioning for the knuckles when hitting a hard surface.

By removing the Nock V2’s flip-chip mount, which allows for two lateral and two frontal positions, there is now a simplified connection between the hull and the mount, while making it significantly more reliable.

This simplification hasn’t really messed with the comfort level. Super compact, the Nock V3 mounts blend right into the cockpit. Their direct grip system gives you more side-to-side adjustment and makes for a perfect fit in the cockpit, especially handy for e-bikes.

Even without an extender, the Nock V3 gives you just as much room for those big hands and long levers as the Nock V2 with its extended flip-chip mount. It’s simple but super effective and totally race-ready—that’s the vibe behind the Nock V3 design!

Sendhit Nock V3 Features

The shell is the central element of a handguard; it must both protect and withstand the worst impacts. The new hull has undergone several evolutions:

• Compact and discreet guard: 1 cm smaller than the Nock V2.
• Variable shield thickness to optimize rigidity or flexibility according to the impact zone.
• Controlled shield deformation under flex for better hand coverage.
• Thanks to the new specific design of the guard, we control its deformation to ensure that it remains high when flexing to cover the hand.
• More material for better knuckle coverage
• 400-micron-thick decal to protect the shield from scratches
• Less material and a thinner thickness to reduce impact when impacting the ground.

Where the shell needs to deform in a specific way in the event of an impact, the mounting bracket must remain securely in place to cover the hand and lever and not disturb the rider. This right balance between flexibility and rigidity is at the heart of the combination of these two parts.

The new mounting bracket has undergone several changes:

• 2 screws lock-on system for maximum stiffness and easy installation.
• Wider bracket for stiffer lateral rigidity.
• A plastic ring between the bar and the bracket to reduce stress transfer to the handlebar and rotational forces (more grip with less NM torque !)

At a time when all bike manufacturers are working on the optimal integration of components, the Nock V3 is not left behind and provides a solution to all riders who lack space on their cockpit:

• Exclusive direct-mount system on select grips to save space between the grip and the triggers, ensuring full compatibility with all e-bikes.
• Very simple installation: remove the locking ring and install the bracket in its place.
• Direct mounting on grip compatible with many major brands (Burgetc, Race Face, Deity Components, and many others).
