Newton meters, foot pounds what, eh? Sounds a little bit complicated, well it can be but it’s also a critical part of how your bike is put together, especially for carbon fibre parts which require a very precise amount of torque.
The Cleanskin brand has done it again with another product in its ever-growing range. This time they have entered into the home mechanic tool sector with a Torque Wrench.

Features
The Cleanskin MTB Torque wrench offers a wide range of torque setting from 2-24nm which will cover the most common parts of a bike that require tightening such as stem, headset, suspension linkages plus many other areas of the bike that has the “nm” lettering next to it. Carbon fibre components are especially critical when it comes to using the correct torque.
The torque settings are inscribed along the shaft of the handle. To dial in the correct setting, simply twist the handle until the dial reaches the correct markings. There is also a dial that can be flipped to change the direction of the ratchet, from torquing up, to loosening. There is a range of Hex, T, and Allen bits as well as an extender piece.
Although the Clik is more than enough for smaller parts of the bike that require forces up to 24nm, it won’t be suitable for bigger jobs that need more heft, such as bottom brackets. We recommend you not using it or over-torquing it for these parts. You will need a different tool for that. But for most commonly replaced parts of your bike, the Clik is perfect!
