C2 – Men’s Elite Half Zip & Performance Tights – Apparel Review

C2 – Men’s Elite Half Zip & Performance Tights – Apparel Review

When I first heard of compression clothing, or tights if you will, I thought that the exercising and sports world had gone mad!

Wearing more clothing will make you less sweaty and assist muscle recovery? Surely this had to be some kind of joke! But, (eventually) I decided to give them a try.

Much to my astonishment, the difference was immediate and noticeable! Less muscle fatigue while running or riding, and the recovery time was greatly reduced!

If only there were a proper set that I could use which would keep me warm during the cooler months… Well, the folks from over at www.buyc2.com are selling exactly that!

Compression clothing that is not only comfortable and doesn’t ride up (you know the wedgie feeling, admit it), but keeps you fantastically warm during the colder periods.

C2 Compression tights are perfect for hiking, running or MTB’ing on those colder days. Although it may be warming up here in the Southern Hemisphere we still have a few nippy mornings from time to time.

Look and Feel

At first glance, the Performance Tights look like a cross between a tracksuit (or sweats), and yoga pants.

Nothing really wrong with that of course, I mean, who doesn’t like a wonderfully slim athlete in their prime, dancing and prancing about in clothing that leaves little to the imagination… Then there’s me.

“I’m neither wonderfully slim, nor am I in my prime, so the image conjured up was less than flattering.”

Putting them on allayed any of my preconceptions and fears though, as they didn’t only hug the skin like a great pair of tights should, but they didn’t make me look like yesterday’s leftovers from the local muffin shop! And comfort!

Fit

They are so comfortable it would be entirely understandable if you put them on just to relax in the house.

The Half Zip compression top is similar, insofar as it’s tight like it should be, but also closer to a jumper than workout clothes. This by no means causes it to lose the intended function, as it still provided the necessary muscle support.

Performance

Even though it has been warming up in Queensland, Toowoomba is still got a chill running in the mornings and evenings. Well, chilly to me! Blame poor circulation…

“The Half Zip and Tights performed admirably compared to my regular set of compression gear, wicking away any sweat and providing me with a comfortable temperature for me to run in.”

The compression worked flawlessly, with very little muscle impact movement or fatigue, and clung without massive clumping while out pedalling on the bike.

I am looking forward to putting these through their paces next winter, as they will be perfect at combating the winter wind while running and riding! It gets windy here on the mountain top!

Reflective strips to help keep you seen on the trails and roads at night.

I was mostly interested in reviewing these for the coming winters, as I freeze at the best of times sitting in Air Conditioning. My Diabetes wreaks havoc with my circulation, and as a result I have an extraordinarily hard time staying warm.

“I did get some strange looks while I was running along though, and I suppose that’s warranted since it’s nearly summer here.”

I can say for certain though, they definitely work for me, so a normal person going through winter (nod to all those in the northern hemisphere) will be both thrilled and toasty warm while out on an adventure during the Autumn (Fall sounds weird) and Winter months!

Conclusion

I honestly cannot recommend these enough! The tights have been on several late night running trips, and early morning workouts, with absolutely no sign of stretching or wear and tear.

The Half Zip hasn’t been on so many trips out, as it is getting warmer, but there have been occasions where I’ve needed the wind chill protection more than the compression!

You can order them online from www.buyc2.com, and I can guarantee you now that they are worth the money. I will definitely be ordering another pair (possibly more) for the coming winter, as I doubt a single pair will cover a full week of workout sessions.

Don’t be a lazy bear and hibernate during winter, get yourself a set of C2 and stay warm with exercise!

All three packs offer something different and are aimed at day rides where you can carry the bare minimum such as the Kitsuma, or pack a little more with the Seral and Savu. The Kitsuma and the Seral use a bladder system. The Savu is a lumbar pack that has been designed to carry two bottles (no bladder). Whichever style of pack or riding you do, there’s now a great range to choose from. It’s good to see Osprey focusing on more mtb specific designs and what riders are looking for. 📸 @richardmcgibbon
