Conrad Anker: A Life in Adventure

THE NORTH FACE SPEAKER SERIES AUSTRALIA presents Conrad Anker: A Life in Adventure, Live in Sydney and Melbourne

We have two tickets up for grabs for the Sydney or Melbourne screening (dates below). All you need to do is “SHARE” this post and/or “TAG” a friend who you think would like to go.

A True Mountain Man

The master of technical mountaineering, Conrad has over 30 years of climbing and mountaineering experience under his belt, and is still chasing first ascents. He’s a visionary, a champion for the environment, a pioneer and the best comrade you’ll find at 25,000 feet—he’s dedicated every ounce of his being to this life.

Conrad will present his life of adventure, sharing what inspired him to pursue a career in the mountains along with tales and stunning footage of climbing the world’s most remote and challenging peaks, from expeditions on Meru to Queen Maud Land in Antarctica. Following the presentation will be an exclusive interview with Conrad, conducted by The North Face adventurer, Justin Jones.

First Time To Australia

On his visit to Australia, Conrad Anker says, “Australia captures the imagination. Since I was a youngster I’ve longed to visit this continent and the cheerful people that make it special. Thanks to The North Face I’ll have the chance to visit the Blue Mountains and share my story of adventure and alpinism with audiences in Sydney and Melbourne. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and experiencing Australia.”

Up Close and Personal

The North Face will also be hosting an up-close and personal experience with Conrad Anker set in the Megalong Valley in NSW, for storytelling & fodder by the campfire. Please reach out if you have a team member interested in attending this special event.

Supporting Mountain Youth Services Team

To support the Mountain Youth Services Team (MYST), $10 from each ticket will be donated to aid the development of their Outdoor Explore bush adventure therapy program. Located in the heart of the Blue Mountains World Heritage National Park, MYST has developed a specialisation in the delivery of bush adventure therapy programs over the past 25 years.

The program will give children and families an opportunity for a digital detox and a chance to learn, explore and discover the many benefits of bush adventure through a range of outdoor activities.

Born and grew up in Wales but now a fully fledged Aussie. A passionate mountain biker, hiker and general nature addict. I’m also a bit of a muso and enjoy a good craft beer every now and again (probably too often).

I hope what we do here at Tyres and Soles will inspire people to get out there and experience first hand, the natural wonders that surround them.

So, pump up those tyres, don your favourite boots. Grab a mate, a partner, a pet… and head out into nature. But tell us all about it when you get back.
